Mens Sat Comp: Dragons share points again
Port United Dragons 2 Kempsey Saints 2
Guess what another draw for the Dragons!
It is believed that the way they are going they could take on Chelsea and still get a draw at the moment. United don't deserve to win or don't deserve to lose so lets have a draw is the way of thinking at present.
United played some great football and feel that perhaps they should have won but to the credit of Kempsey they held them to their 4th consecutive draw.
With goals from Matt Lacey (one penalty) the team supported each other well and were denied victory by a late goal by Kempsey off a deflection.
Next week the Dragons take on the Port United Saturday Men's team in the local derby at Dixie Park.

Mens Sat Comp: Dragons come from three down
Port United Dragons 3 Lake Cathie Raiders 3
Well this was a game that had defeat written all over it for United but it wasn't part of their plan.
The Dragons started a little slow but continued to forge away, Lake Cathie scored pretty early and unfortunately that became a double whammy soon after. Uniteds defence done their best but the attack was quick and precise leaving them little resolve.
The third goal came out of the blue and at that point they had the three points and called for the powerade but the old burners for United didn't think it was finished yet.
Big Phil (tape) Stokes was fouled in the penalty area giving Matt Lacey an opportunity to peg a goal back which he did with precision, going to the half time break 3-1 down.
The second half started after the boys had had their steer juice to the dismay of the opposition. The Dragons came out on fire with 3 or 4 attacking raids in the first 10 minutes only just missing a result. United had a couple of corners which ended in narrow missed before Mick Martin crossed a cracker to Glenn Pollard who blinded by the sun leapt above the keeper to head in claiming the second goal.
United attacked and defended brilliantly and the equalizer came with about 9 minutes to go - another penalty which Lacey again put away leveling the score at 3-3.
Only minutes left a defensive move turned into an attacking raid with Terry Nocelli putting a great ball to Pollard who put an equally good ball through to Martin, too much time was his demise striking it hard directly to the keeper.
But as we always say, as long as we come off uninjured and the esky is full - its been a great game. Till next game, go you Dragons!

Mens Sat Comp: United too good for Kempsey Saints
Port United 7 Kempsey Saints White 2
Port United travelled to Kempsey on the weekend to play against Saints and clearly the team was suffering jet lag because United produced its worst 30 minutes of the season in what could only be described as perfect conditions.
The return of Jody Perkins in goals was a boost for the opposition with them taking an early lead with a shot from 50 yards. Jody feels the rules should be changed to allow players to wear sunglasses on the field!
Fortunately a master stroke from stand-in coach Wayne Hamlin saw the introduction of veteran junior Brenton Doyle who had an immediate impact, setting up the first goal for Pete Goonan and scoring the second just before half time.
Saints could rightly feel robbed, hitting the post twice in the early stages & generally dominating play.
A stern word from the coach at half time sparked the team into action producing United's best 40 minutes of football for the season.
Pete Goonan ended up with his first hatrick in his life, Brenton added a second to his tally and new striker Shannon Ronaldo scored two including a cracker from just outside the box.
Saints managed to peg one back due to poor defence from man of the match Mark Stocks (who received the sympathy vote) but were shell shocked from a dominant United performance recording a seven two victory. Luke Hanson arguably struck the worst penalty since the Matt Cato debacle denying United an 8th goal.
However, overall the team is progressing well awaiting the return of star players from injury. The best is yet to come.
